Drake :: Not a ladies man… right.

I call bullshit.

When one of your biggest commercial hits to date has a chorus of ‘I want to fuck every girl in the world,’ I have to call your bluff, Drake.  Drake plans to re-release his mixtape So Far Gone on September 15, 2009, which will include an additional promo bonus track for his debut, Thank Me Later.  I genuinely like Drake’s music, but the hype and press around him is almost as painful as watching him eat shit on stage.  Even better is watching Sway have multiple ‘pause’ moments in the clip above.

By the way, Bow Wow is not a ladies man, that kid was like, 8 when i was 18.  Just saying.

    On the strength, that whole pause shiite is both retarded and played. Why do I have to pause to let other people know that I’m not into some accidental sexual innuendo that the dude next to me fell into. I’m not gay because I’m not gay, and doesn’t make me any less or more gay if I let the world know that I’m not signing of on some Freudian slip. It makes me think when I see cats do the pause, or worse yet, “no homo”, that they are either homophobic or in fact struggling with some sexuality shit. That may not be the cause but it makes me suspect nonetheless. Oh I get it, “no homo” is new straight rainbow bumper sticker?

    Act right, and right will act.

    I’ve been kinda fascinated by the ‘no homo’ and the ‘pause’ movements in urban language (I think I hate that term more so than any other, actually). I have a bunch of homosexual friends and have also lived through some of the most homophobic moments in music in general (Remember the Elton John / Em disaster?). I remember having a conversation with a friend a few months back about how women couldn’t actually use ‘pause’ and have it come correct – in this case, it’s used more as a joke than anything.

    Are people that say ‘no homo’ after everything hiding their sexuality? Perhaps… but more so, I think it’s more of a joke.

    Act right & right will act – agreed.

    para ti. Thanks for the comment, probably a lot more thought out than a lot of the comments I get on poplemon (aka Aesop Rock isn’t ugly! Weezy is a dreamboat!).

    You may have mentioned this…but in case you didn’t..I wanted to make sure the world remembered that Drake was on one of the most popular teen dramas of the new generation. Degrassi: The Next Generation. I’ve seen more episodes than I’d like to admit (WAY more…that’s what you get from Nanny Central…) and all I can think about is him rapping on there. And him getting shot on the show and needing a wheelchair. So when I see him rapping in real life…all I can think about is him being Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi.
