Jay-Z :: Blueprint Special Edition artwork

When I first heard The Blueprint, I hated it. I mean, I’ve been a Jay fan since Reasonable Doubt, but I really, really fucking hated The Blueprint – even more so, I boycotted a lot of his music until The Black Album dropped. When The Blueprint 2 dropped, I still hadn’t rekindled my love for Jay…Looking back, I can listen to both albums continuously. It’s always been amazing to me how much a little time can change your whole perspective.
With that being said, t comes as absolutely not surprise that Def Jam (as a last ditch money making effort since Jay has left the label in favor of his own, Roc Nation) has scheduled a re-release of both Blueprint albums on September 8, 2008 – three days before The Blueprint 3 is set to release, in honor of the release date of the first of the three. The Collector’s Edition will also offer a slot for an additional CD, making it a comprehensive Blueprint Collection. Or so they say.

And finally… I leave you with the second released single, Run This Town featuring Rihanna & Kanye West. Differing from a lot of my other blogosphere counterparts, I actually dig on this song… Much more so than D.O.A.
