KRS-One vs. Def Jam

I told ya’ll a few weeks back that KRS-One had lost his damn mind. More confirmation via interview on the VH1 Hip Hop Honors red carpet is below. In this short clip, he explains,

“Def Jam is the dopest label in hip-hop, in the culture of hip-hop. There really would be no hip-hop as we know it today if it wasn’t for Def Jam. But you don’t get that respect without also being the label that single-handedly destroyed hip-hop.”

Note to self: Probably not a good idea to talk a bunch of shit about a label who is being honored by the biggest music television conglomerates in the country at the award show they invited your crazy ass to. Also, flooding the culture with 90 different hip hop elements probably doesn’t help either.
