Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2009 Collection
I couldn’t imagine being a young whippersnapper with a terminal/nonterminal disease, living in a hospital, and being stripped of whatever normal freedoms children have… being able to get into trouble, beat your little brother up, whatever.
I heard about the 2009 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection a month or so ago and wanted to wait until the entire series preview dropped. In 2004, young Doernbecher hospital patients from Oregon began desinging shoes in hopes to sell enough shoes to turn their hospital’s financial problems around. Personally, I’m totally on this hot pink 2009 Air Max Zenyth designed by Anna Finley. The inside of the shoe has fur and is detailed with random scribbled drawings from her own hands… and holy shit, look at those laces.
The collection will be released in November @ Niketown locations across the country.
