Jay-Z :: NY-Z (Absolut collaboration documentary)

I can’t think of a better way to kick off the week with a 15-minute Jay-Z documentary hosted by Absolut Vodka‘s marketing team.

I think watching this nice, short mini documentary may make missing the Hova show this evening in my city a bit more bearable.

Ehh… maybe not.  The John Mayer appearance ruined it for me.

From the press release:

Continuing to collaborate with creative visionaries, ABSOLUT Vodka presents this new 15-minute short film featuring Jay-Z. The documentary, titled NY-Z, was directed by Danny Clinch and paints a rare portrait of the global hip-hop icon. With unprecedented access to Jay-Z the days and moments leading up to, and after, his legendary September 11th benefit concert at Madison Square Garden, Danny Clinch gives us an intimate glimpse into Jay-Z: his childhood, his motivation as an artist, his passion for music, and his muse, New York.

    Ill photography. Dope watching him rehearse with the band. Turns out you need all 88 keys to play Empire State of Mind. Sucks cause I only have 61. But check this vid of me playing his best song, Dead Presidents on piano while rapping my own verse. I do Feelin It, Changes by Pac and more. Watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1k1gLFq-qw
