The 2010 edition of VH1′s Hip Hop Honors will throw a few fingers in the air for southern rap’s most prominent artists:  Jermaine Dupri, Luke Campbell (of 2 Live Crew fame), J. Prince (who created Houston’s premier label,  Rap-A-Lot), Master P, and Organized Noise.  The party is scheduled for June 3 and will air on VH1 on June 7.

Being a huge fan of southern hip hop in general, I’m pretty geeked for this year’s honors, however… There are a bunch of folks who deserve just as much shine, specifically people who have worked with both Organized Noise and J. Prince, such as Scarface, Outkast.. and a few others…

Where’s Clipse at?

Regardless, the full performance lineup is anxiously awaited.  Let’s hope they move back up north for a few minutes and salute Guru‘s life as well.
